
Private lender ICICI bank has denied the threat projected by QuickHeal’s recent report hinting malware attack affecting over 200 banking apps worldwide and termed it insignificant.
Days after the cybersecurity brand QuickHeal warned the banks regarding malware breaching into mobile applications, ICICI bank said that the warnings are not significant.
“Whatever we have seen, the malware seems to be not very significant,” said bank’s B Madhivanan, Chief Technology and Digital Officer.
QuickHeal recently warned the lenders regarding the presence of a malware that is threatening the safety of mobile banks apps running on Androids.The cybersecurity firm recently detected malware in more than 200 apps.
“Anyone who wants to sell their anti-malware kind of products, they have the right to continuously test and bring it in,” said Madhavan.
