South Indian Bank, based in Kerala, has announced the promotion of Anto George T as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) from 22 December 2024. Before this role, Anto George T served as Chief General Manager overseeing ‘HR and Operations.’ The bank confirmed this development in a regulatory filing, stating, “Anto George T, Chief General Manager – ‘HR and Operations,’ is designated as ‘Chief Operating Officer (COO)’ of the Bank w.e.f December 22, 2024.”
He has over three decades of banking experience. He has held positions as a branch head, including large metro branches, and regional head for Chennai, Hyderabad, and Delhi regions.

Anto’s expertise lies in internal audit, vigilance, fraud management, corporate, retail, and agriculture credit, banking operations, profit and loss management, government liaison, HR and finance operations, business development, product management, new branch setups, training, and people management. He also serves as the Director of SIB Operations and Services Ltd (SIBOSL). Anto has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Calicut University, Thenhipalem, Malapuram and an MBA in Human Resources Development from Annamalai University.
