Instant chat messenger giant Whatsapp has launched its UPI enabled beta version payment app in India. The app is launched in association with National Payments Corporation of India.

As of now, the version has been released to limited users in India.
Several users across social media have shared updates pertaining to this latest feature.
The latest version, will however dependent on person-to-person, which means only regular users will be allowed to initiate payments to each other. Users registered under business version will be unable to receive payments under the newly launched feature.
WhatsApp’s rival Google has already launched its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) version Tez, which managed to get 7.5 million users within five weeks of its launch.
According to some experts, WhatsApp payments due to its huge user base of 200 million, has the potential to transform digital payments scenario in India.
