Visa collaborates with DigitSecure and HDFC Bank for Tap to Phone card acceptance solution

VISA

Leading payments technology provider Visa today announced the first successful live deployment of a PCI certified Tap to Phone card acceptance solution, in collaboration with DigitSecure and HDFC Bank. DeliveryPlus is the first merchant to unveil with HDFC Bank as an acquirer. This new solution enables merchants in accepting secure contactless card payments in seconds via an app on their NFC-enabled Android smartphones, without any dedicated card acceptance devices.

In alignment with the ‘Make in India’ goal of local innovation, DigitSecure is the first Asia Pacific based company to receive PCI security certification for the deployment of this technology.

According to the company’s official communiqué, Tap to Phone technology will lower the operational costs for financial institutions significantly by migrating merchant onboarding, account provisioning and security to PCI certified payment acceptance cloud.

This will help banks and fintechs to enable more merchants for card acceptance.
